Dog Thief?

Okay. This is kind of interesting. Late last Sunday afternoon, my little pekenese "escaped". He somehow ended up out of his fenced in area (through a hole he had supposedly made that was only six inches diameter, with a cone on) and I went looking for him. The way the town is organized, I thought that it would be faster if I went seperate directions. I would go one direction first, then work my way back, then go the other direction. I went door to door to all my nearest neighbors and talk to the ones that opened their door for me. I also spoke to the people that were out on the street. Every five steps I took, I made sure to yell his name as loud as I could for two reasons: 1) if he could hear me calling him, he would turn back and follow my voice to me and 2) If one of th neighbors had found him or had taken him, they would hear that someone is looking for him. I would think that if you found a dog with a collar and a "biter cone" and someone was looking for a lost animal, it would at least catch your attention. The "biter cone" should have also tipped you off that he was injured or sick in some way and maybe needed some kind of treatment or medication. He also had his tags on, just saying. Anyway, after searching for two hours, I turned to the reverse direction. The neighbor nearly directly behind us aid she had seen him an hour before I got there, but hadn't seen which way it had gone. I continued searching for another two hours and still couldn't find him. I couldn't walk either. It took half an hour to get back home and the sun was setting. We had already checked both the vet, the dogcatcher, and the pound. I wouldn't wander the streets, alone, in the dark. I settled for waiting in a chair in the front yard waiting for him to come back. I had a hard time getting to sleep that night and finally fell asleep around four the next morning. My legs and hips were killing me and I was very upset. My mom woke me up around ten. I still couldn't walk well but I went outside to see if he had come back or eaten his food. He hadn't. I had to clean up and get packed and ready to leave. I did not have time to search the streets again. I did stop by the neighbors who had seen him and asked again. they said they hadn't and that *someone probably had him.*I went home and got a call around 7:00 pm from my grandmother saying that they had found my dog and that the people I had talked to a few times were the ones that had found him. The ones that lives behind us. And that the lady had put him in her neighbors yard because she had other pekenese and thought they would get along better that her large dogs. They also took his cone off. Yesterday, I heard the whole, slightly more true story. The lady that lives behind us had found my dog the day before, but seeing as it was a male pekenese caught him and put him in the neighbors yard with the neighbor's two female pekenese. They then sent me on some wild goose chase for two and a half hours but I came back several times to talk to them again, seeing as they were the only people who had actually seen him. Go figure. I think they called because they felt guilty about lying to me. When my cousin went to pick up my dog, the lady did everything she could to keep from giving him back. She said that in the two days that she'd had him, her son had gotten attatched and they now wanted to keep him. My cousin had to threaten with police in order to get him back. The nerve. I had previously been keeping him in the front yard because there was more shade, but I think I'll make some shade and keep him in the back from now on. Might be less tempting.

I'm back!

Whew! That was a nice trip. My mom did come with me and we had fun. We ate three meals a day almost all three days and I have never felt so full for so long. We saw 'Angels and Demons'. I completely recommend it. The projects were beautiful and there were so many of them! One guy made a casket! It was kind of funny. My refurbished chair won Superior and Best In State. It was awesome. Well, I'm back now and in class again. I have two more days, then I'm going back to my grandmother's to take care of my sick dog. He started bleeding again... poor thing. My aunt is taking her to her sister's to visit so I'll be there alone. Not a problem. I'll see if I can take my laptop to play on while I'm there. lol. I may be pretty busy though. I am reading a new series. Its a long one. It starts with Guilty Pleasures by Laura K. Hamilton. Anyway, After these last two days, I have a three day weekend. Then I have 4 days left of school. One of those is a review, then I have finals. I'm not nervous though, I'm exempt.

Hi everyone looking at this post! I'm may not be on for awhile. I'm going to my grandmother's house to take care of my dog for the weekend and then I will be out of town on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the TSA State contest. It will probably take us about 8 hours to get there. Isn't that nice? And missing 3 days of school so soon to the end probably isn't a good thing but it won't be helped. So there. I'm not sure if I will have access to a computer on any of those days so I am just warning you. I will let you all know how it goes when I get back. If there is anyone there... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

*Bother!* I'm bothering my friends jen and shayla. They're in the library so we're sneaky-IM-ing each other. I have a lot of work I should do b ut this is more fun and I have a major headache anyway.
SO THERE!
Sorry, I'm in a goofy mood. It's Thursday, soooooo close to Friday and I'm ready to take a major nap. I got a new book! Maybe I won't lose this one. I might add some javascript later.
Again, sorry. My mind just jumped a track.
I think I need a major nap...

Blond Joke

I'm in a goog mood right now. I think I'll find a funny joke.

A lawyer and a blonde are sitting next to each other on a long flight from LA to NY. The lawyer leans over to her and asks if she would like to play a fun game. The blonde just wants to take a nap, so she politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists and explains that the game is really easy and a lot of fun. He explains" I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5, and vice-versa." Again, she politely declines and tries to get some sleep. The lawyer, now somewhat agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500!." Figuring that since she is a blonde that he will easily win the match. This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring that there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?" The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches in to her purse, pulls out a five dollar bill and hands it to the lawyer. Now, it's the blonde's turn. She asks the lawyer: "What goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down with four?"
The lawyer looks at her with a puzzled look. He takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references. He taps into the Airphone with his modem and searches the Net and the Library of Congress. Frustrated, he sends E-mails to all his coworkers and friends he knows. All to no avail. After over an hour, he wakes the blonde and hands her $500. The blonde politely takes the $500 and turns away to get back to sleep.
The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, so what IS the answer!?" Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5, and goes back to sleep.

End of Day

The day is aaaaaaaaaalmost over. It is 3:33 and I get out of school in 10 minutes or so. I should probablydo my work... Too late now. Oh, well. I am in kind of a good mood actually because my dog just got out of surgery and they say that he should make a full recovery. I know it's not a sure thing but it makes me happy cuz I kinda decided that they should perform surgery on him. So everything is okay now. I was a little shaky for a minute there but now I'm just looking foreward to seeing him. They say heshould be in the house awhile, which is good cuz it's getting to be full summer and I so despise temperatures over 80 degrees. It's hard for me to handle too much heat and thats usually the only way for me to visit him. : ) 5 minutes! Oh yes, I am counting down the minutes. I am ready to go home.

Today

Hi! Today is just another day at school, really. I'm in my Webmastering class right now, drinking my morning coffee. Yay coffee! I have 2 and 1/2 weeks left of school and I am just getting everything kind of wrapped up. I am ready to be out of school. I am so tired of waking up at 5:30 in the morning. I'm not a morning person anyway. Anyway, so... funny thing, I accidentally overslept and woke up at 6:30 this morning. Oops! And since I have to leave the house by 6:50 to get to school on time, I really had to hurry and I got to the bus early! We beat the bus to the gate! It made the laugh. Just a little bit of irony there.

About Me

Hey! My name is Heather and I live in Texas. I live in the middle of nowhere with my little brother, little sister, parents, 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 horses, African Grey Parrot, and pet pigeon. I moved here about 5 years ago. I used to live in a city, in a fairly large 3- bed, 3-bath house, but I now live in a much smaller house. Big adjustment.
